NEW TV ONE ORIGINAL FILM DON'T WASTE YOUR PRETTY

STARRING KERI HILSON & DEBORAH JOY WINANS PREMIERES SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28 AT 8/7C ON TV ONE

Check out the official film trailer HERE

Also, check out 4 Da Taste's exclusive film preview clip below that touches on a hot topic, especially among 30-something Millenials who keep getting asked that super aggy, hella nosey, MYOB-response worthy question "...so when you getting married!?" This movie gets a solid 4/5 for its genuineness, and its unique perspective into relationship issues common today. Deborah Joy Winans delivers the best performance in our opinion as she pulls off the biggest character arc convincingly and most relatably. Keri Hilson also delivers a refreshing performance, accompanied by co-stars Redaric Williams, Tamara Bass, Jasmine Burke, and Kaye Singleton. Additionally, Demetria L. Lucas deserves much praise not just for her literary work but also her directorial work in adapting her novel to a screenplay. We hope to see much more from all involved in this film, check it out this Sunday-- a great way to close out #BlackHistoryMonth!

Airing Sun Feb 28th 8pm Eastern, DON'T WASTE YOUR PRETTY follows a group of tightly knit friends as they sort out their turbulent life issues and love lives - always turning to one another to figure out their next move when jobs, romance or family interactions prove more complicated than they had ever anticipated. The film is based on the eponymous novel penned by award-winning author and media personality Demetria L. Lucas. The cast of DON'T WASTE YOUR PRETTY includes Keri Hilson ("Think Like A Man," "Almost Christmas"), Redaric Williams ("The Yard," "The Young And The Restless"), Deborah Joy Winans ("Greenleaf"), Jasmine Burke ("Saints & Sinners"), Kaye Singleton ("American Soul") and Rainey Branch ("Being Mary Jane," "Grey's Anatomy"). DON’T WASTE YOUR PRETTY premieres on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 8 p.m./7C on TV One.

22nd Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will air on BET during Super Bowl LV week on Saturday, February 6th at 8/7c

(NEW YORK, NY) - February 2, 2021 – For the eighth consecutive year, the 22nd Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will air on BET during Super Bowl LV week on Saturday, February 6th at 8/7c.

Kicking off with an opening prayer by author and Pastor, Mike Todd, the theme “Nothing Can Stop Us” is the inspirational message for this highly anticipated night of praise and worship during Super Bowl LV. This year’s event will be hosted by national radio and TV personality Rickey Smiley and feature performances by The NFL Players Choir, Erica Campbell, Voices of Fire presented by Pharrell Williams, PJ Morton, Kierra Sheard, Koryn Hawthorne, Zacardi Cortez, and an exclusive performance by gospel music pioneer and living legend John P. Kee. Additionally, the show will feature appearances from NFL Players Desean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles), Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys), Jacoby Brissett (Indianapolis Colts), Teddy Bridgewater (Carolina Panthers), Desean Jackson (Philadelphia Eagles), Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) and NFL Legend Cris Carter.

The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration will present Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson with this year’s “Faith In Action Award,” presented by celebrated NFL Legend Warrick Dunn (Tampa Bay Buccaneers & Atlanta Falcons). The son of a courageous cancer survivor, Watson is one of the NFL’s youngest philanthropists and is committed to causes that support families and youth in underserved communities.

In collaboration with the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, the American Cancer Society will highlight the need to eliminate barriers to prevention and treatment in the black community during the broadcast. African Americans have the lowest survival rate for most cancers, and the pandemic has caused a devastating drop in cancer screenings.  Viewers will be encouraged to donate during the show on BET by texting HOPE to 20222 to donate $10 to the American Cancer Society.

Originating at Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999, the annual event joins key NFL Players, top Gospel/Contemporary Christian, and mainstream GRAMMY® Award-winning artists, and special guests all on one stage to bring audiences an evening of uplifting music and inspirational messages.

Super Bowl Gospel Celebration (SBGC) is the largest multicultural event during the Super Bowl weekend. In its 22-year run as an NFL-sanctioned event, SBGC has featured artists including Patti LaBelle, Yolanda Adams, Gladys Knight, Natalie Grant, Mary Mary, Fantasia, Donnie McClurkin, Anthony Hamilton, among many others.

Melanie Few is the Founder and NFL Sanction Holder of the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. The show’s Executive Producers are Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at BET, Jamal Noisette, VP of Specials & Music Programming at BET, Jeannae Rouzan-Clay, CEO of J. Rou Productions Inc.

But behind closed doors, her life is far from idyllic. Her husband Ed (Chiké Okonkwo) is a controlling man who is physically and psychologically abusive. When Jade decides to leave Ed, he tells her "If I can't have you, nobody will," a threat which becomes very real when she discovers he has hired someone to kill her. Knowing no one will believe her, Jade realizes the only way to escape Ed is to make him believe the hitman completed the job and that she is dead. La’Myia Good plays Jade’s sister Leigh. Death Saved My Life is produced by Jarrett Creative. Executive producers are Julie Insogna Jarrett, Seth Jarrett and Meagan Good. Seth Jarrett directs from a script written by Barbara Kymlicka.
